National Medical Commission

The National Medical Commission looks after the standards and regulations of different medical practices. Medical practitioners should register themselves in the National Medical Commission  (NMC), as it is a part of the rule to safeguard the welfare of the patients. Registration is also essential for someone who is legally practicing medicine to maintain accountability.

According to a recent survey, there are over 13 lakh allopathic doctors registered to NMC and the State Medical councils. As the government is taking vital steps to increase the number of medical college seats. The number of registered doctors is expected to rise with every passing year.

This guide includes detailed implementation guidelines to educate individuals to go through the process thoroughly and correctly. The overall experience of filling up the forms, gathering the supporting documents, and going through the process of application with the National Medical Council will be made more accessible. As these aspiring medical workers will have access to helpful information and guides that will help them accomplish this task effectively.

Step-by-Step Guide For Registering to NMC

The steps for registering with the National Medical Council.

Step 1: Obtain the Application Form

The primary task in the registration process is filling out the application document for the Indian Medical Registrar Certificate. You could either download the form from the NMC website or get it from their office in New Delhi. Note:  Application form must be filled out correctly to avoid any breach in the registration process.

Step 2: Gather Required Documents

Make a list of all the documents you must attach before submitting your application and recheck to avoid errors. The documents include:

Bank Draft: A bank draft of Rs. 1000 plus 18% GST is required for registration to “The Secretary, Medical Council of India, New Delhi” and ensure it is paid in New Delhi.

Additional Qualification Fee: If you add any extra qualifications to the registration certificate, you must pay an additional charge of Rs. 1000 plus 18% GST for each added qualification.

Attested Copy of Permanent Registration Certificate: If you are a member of any professional body or have any certification, showcase your original document.

Passport Size Photographs: In addition to the usual passport-size colour photograph, you must provide a recent passport-size photograph with your signature on the back of the photo.

Receipt: Take the receipt after your application form is filled out and signed by the receiving officer who will check to ensure there are no errors.

Contact Information: You must fill in your email address and phone number. The beneficiaries will be sent a user ID and password on their mobile phones and email addresses for downloading their certificates. Certificates will be distributed online on the MCI website.

Step 3: Fill out the Application form

Fill out the application form with all the necessary and accurate information. Keep in mind the data is correct, legible, and neat. Always check whether any signature is needed in the application form. Do not forget to upload all your listed required documents as stated in Step 2.

Step 4: Submit the Form

In the next step, you must submit the filled-out application form alongside gathering all the required documents. The particulars of the draft must be filled in correctly on the reverse side as per the names requested on the draft, which includes your and your father’s name. It also requires the declaration of the purpose of the draft and the mobile number of the informant.

You are required to submit the application form and a bank draft, along with related documents, to the physical address of the Medical Council of India. Note that cheques are not accepted.

Step 5: Wait for the Confirmation

Your application must be submitted instantly, and the Medical Council of India will reply via email regarding your registration status. Their preferred communication method could be Email or SMS. They will contact you and keep you updated about your application.

Step 6: Get the Certificate

As mentioned earlier, you will receive your login ID and password via SMS or email on your mobile. Using these details, go to MCI’s “Apply Online Portal” and from there, you may download your Indian Medical Register Certificate and obtain hard copies of your records.

Conclusion

By following the steps mentioned in the above blog, you can easily register yourself with the National Medical Council of India.
